Titanic

At 11:40pm on 14th April 1912, the RMS Titanic of the White Star Line struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic on route to New York from Southampton. She sank nearly three hours later with the loss of 1514 passengers and crew.
The incident created one of the worst civilian maritime disasters in history - and ensureed the Titanic's enduring fame.
