As times change and the hobby industry evolves, Airfix has started to create some fantastic new box art illustrations using the latest technology!

With these new eye catching pieces of art, we hope to grab the attention of the younger generation, thus making them pick up a kit and start modelling. This new way of creating artwork also ensures that all the subjects have an extremely high standard of both detail and accuracy.

Instead of using traditional water colours and airbrushing, which were very limited once the final artwork had been completed, we have turned to computer software where we are able to alter all the variables of the subject, as well as the background within a very short period.  

Both of these illustrations below have been created using the latest computer software.

The first to have been created this way is the eagerly awaited TSR-2 which is soon to be out in shops! As you would agree, the illustration really does capture the beauty of the ill fated aircraft in flight, as well as being very high in detail.



Eurofighter Typhoon

Fresh off the press is the Eurofighter Typhoon illustration. This artwork expresses how modern and agile the aircraft is in the air, as well as being very eye catching to all levels of model makers.
