DavidJC
I remember when I used any brand of enamels exclusively (well, that's all there was) having this problem. You can de-skim and keep the rim and lid clean, which helps get that airtight seal back in pressing the lid down absolutely firmly, but my guess is once the lid's been openend, that's it. It seems the problem becomes worse the more times the tinlet is opened. I don't know there is any solution, sadly.
Ratch
I used to store my tinlets upside downhttp://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1312/4776356/10076235/331055076.jpg

John Symmons
This dodge of preventing paints skinning over is an old one, and I've used it back in the 50's & 60's, and it does work BUT. If storing paints up-side down just ensure the lid is on tightly and check after a few hours, and for the next few days, and store your paints tins in something like an old ice-cream tub. Nothing worse then wondering where that paint smell is coming from after a few days then finding your paint tin has leaked.Remember we do this for fun John the Pom
