Great starter kit

This is a fine model for what it is, a starter kit. It is based on a much earlier Airfix mould so it may not have the detail of recent Airfix kits, but it still just fine. I have built it before and enjoyed it ... BUT, my starter kit (which come with quality supplies, a great value) is missing a part (the instrument panel) and I can figure out how it went missing. I never LOSE parts, but this one must have not been included. Shame, and I have been waiting years to find a replacement.

Lazy effort

Yes its a starter set, and yes its relatively easy to build however the quality of this model is shocking. Loads of residue left on the pieces and also lots of sanding required but to excess plastic on parts. Decals also lack detail with only 10 stickers in total.

Not the best starter

I picked this up to check out Humbrol paints... and they seem very nice however, the kit it self was very poor for an airfix kit. The air intake under the plane was badly mis-fitted, the exchange port plastic was very messy, little detail. For a serious modeler I can't recommend because of the lack of detail. For the beginner, it's nice to have the brushes, paint, etc. but the fitment problems make it a poor choice. Go get a nice spitfire starter set :D
