Don't know if you've noticed but I managed to get my Avatar uploaded a few weeks ago! In desperation I rang Airfix and turned out it was the sizing that was the issue. So not being a master on computers I emailed the image to Airfix who re-sized it, sent it back and then I was able to upload my Avatar.

Good Customer Service!!

@richard baker

 May i ask how much you charge?

To be honest you would be better off saving your money, his painting is not very good.

Harsh!

For those that are watching this build, I'm sorry there has been no update this week but life has been getting in the way of my modelling and these Brassin engines have been killing lol. But they are done now and so are the turrets!

The only assembly left is the props and spinners,  which should be done tonight then it'll be the final Matt coat over the weekend and photo's, ready for hopefully the BIG REVEAL on Monday. Watch this space!!

Yes if memory serves me correctly from when I built a couple in the long and distant past, the ladder fits onto the main spar running along the bottom of the bomb bay and acts to support the tail heavy beast in the correct position on it's nose wheel, however to accomplish this the bomb bay is required to be displayed open.

For the closed bomb bay option, some weight would still be required but you could use the bomb bay space so long as you kept the weight forward of the pivot point (e.g. the main under-carriage legs)!

The transparent stand set you have bought are the old or original Airfix type stands where the kits were moulded with a flashed over stand slot, but the new tool kits have 2 flashed over holes for the new type  solid black stands.

As Ratch says for the older type stand cut a slot, either between the flashed over holes if you think the plastic is strong enough or choose a fresh area somewhere near the pivot point or center of gravity.

It looks impressive! And I know what you mean, sometimes with a detailed build you get to the stage where you just want it built and finished so you can see the results of your endeavours!

Oh and I forgot the Japanese element, the Val and Dinah to complete the Pacific foes!

I got 1 of those Basset kits on the KitStarter release, but judging by the over all failure of that promotion (I mean even the DHC Beaver didn't secure enough votes to get a limited production run) so cannot imagine Airfix repeating the experience!

But yes I agree the Curtiss Helldiver should get the new tool treatment to compliment the new Wildcat, Zero & Kate. Other classic US Navy aircraft should also be updated with new tools such as the Hellcat, Corsair, Dauntless, Devastator and Avenger. All would be popular on both sides of the pond!!
