Beagle Basset A02025-5 and Curtis Helldiver A09031

What are the chances of Airfix releasing these in the classic range?

The Helldiver saw the light of day more recently with French markings.  So would it be the 1967 incarnation or include French markings?

Airfix produced a series  of books:  Guide number 11 was titled RAF camouflage of World War 2.  ISBN 0 85059 215 1.  I have 1975 edition.

On page 63 is a picture of Liberator III LV337 in olive drab and neutral grey  There are no identification codes, so quite easy to replicate.

The age of  04016-7 means that it needs filler in places and that means losing the fine rivet detail that gives the model some character.

so mychoice is the new, nice fitting DC3 with the windows which I'll not have to do much work to get it to a KLM passenger airliner or stick with my old mould and not  look too closely at the rivet detail that will be missing in parts and create 4 windows.

Hi all

In a spring clean I found an unmade Douglas AC-47 from about 1975.

Is it accurate?  Have I got a DC-3 airliner if I erase the cargo door?

I look forward to reading your suggestions because I'm not keen to finish it as is depicted as gunship.

Cheers

I hope beginner modellers will build both classics and new moulds and will appreciate the difference

Similarly I remember making Frog and Airfix and came to appreciate the latter more.  With a few notable exceptions.

Look forward to seeing this in 1/72 scale along with a BoB era fire tender

There is a good introduction to airbrushing in The Airfix book of Scale Modelling,

For more advanced advice Airbrushing Scale Model Aircraft by Robin Carpenter is very good

I use enamel paint and a no-name airbrush made in China!

Good luck!

I'm delighted a Mig-17 is in the pipe line.

Thought at that price and to compete with Eastern European kits, Might Airfix have a choice of noses for a PF varient and, or underwing rockets for an Egyptian one?
