1964 Triumph TR4A

Ratch

Recommended Posts

At that rate can I suggest "Olde English White" (slightly yellowed white, so that's a use for that old tin of H22) with ox blood interior (burgundy, but it's actual leather, not cloth for seats, door cards and fascia), black for the hood or tonneau, and the colour formerly known as "Russian green" for the engine block, since that matches at least one actual option for a TR4 (and indeed 4A, 5 or 6).

I don't have any Hu:22 left, but I do have Humbrol Acrylic Spray AD6239 Gloss British Racing Green.

ย

I have removed each part from the runners, cleaned them up and made up a couple of sub-assemblies. The chrome parts have been primed black, the engine primed grey and the interior parts sprayed black, except for the dashboard, which I'm currently painting.

Nice kit, Ratch. I can't wait for you to have this one completed.ย  ๐Ÿ˜€

ย

Please take pictures of the completed model, once it's done. There's a few parts there, so it will take you a while, I imagine.

ย

Out of interest, how long do you think this Triumph TR4A, will take you to complete?

Ratch. That's a really fine build, and look just as I remembered the real thing. Well done and thanks for showing this vintage kit. Make one realise just how great the old Airfix range was.

Remember we do this for fun ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย John the Pom

To be honest, I am very surprised how detailed this kit is, being that it is from the 1960's. I would have thought a kit of this age would be lacking in detail. I was wrong thinking that. They are probably more deatiled than kits from the 2010's!ย  ๐Ÿ˜†
