It’s Die-cast Diaries time again and in this latest edition, we mark the Centenary of the Royal Air Force by bringing you exclusive details from an Aviation Archive model which was added to the January – June 2018 range so late, it did not even make it into the printed catalogue.

We will also be seeing how it is not just the RAF who are celebrating a significant anniversary this year, as one of British motoring’s most distinguished family cars is 70 years old.

We also have the latest exclusive update from our spectacular new 1/48th scale Bristol Blenheim Mk.IF tooling and a show report from the recent Southern Expo which took place at the Hornchurch Sports Centre in Essex.

In the previous edition of Aerodrome, we looked at a project which commemorated one Lancashire town's determination to support the war effort in WWII by raising funds to purchase their own Spitfire.

In this latest edition, we look at the rich aviation history this part of the UK can boast and how the team behind the Lytham St Annes Spitfire Memorial have continued to commemorate this heritage. We report from their first Open Day event of 2018, which took place in a genuine WWII hangar at the former RAF Squires Gate.

It's time for another edition of The Engine Shed! In March's blog we take a detailed look at more 2018 new tooling with the Streamlined Princess Coronation up next. A project that's been on our mind here at Hornby for some time, we're hugely excited to get the ball rolling with what we hope will be three outstanding models.

We also catch you up with the latest samples we've received and look ahead to tomorrow's London Festival of Railway Modelling.

The subject of 'Presentation Spitfires' in the Second World War is a fascinating one and tells a story of national unity and a determination to fight back. In the latest edition of Aerodrome, we look at an interesting project which saw a chance discovery turn into a Lancashire town's determination to commemorate their efforts to fund a Spitfire during the war and a young local pilot who flew it in combat.
