Thanks everybody. They weren't cheap (those above totalled over £400) but I used my inheritance from when my father died last year to buy all the car kits I can recall him building. I then decided that I would buy every Airfix 1/32 car kit and build them all, irrespective of price. I also have an Airfix 1/24 James Bond Aston Martin that will be built as well.

@Slheys

Yes, though I believe I still have to includethe last two issues.  The information is an excel file.   I have no objection to sharing it with website members.

However there is no system for private messaging on this site and one is not permitted to post personal details such as emails.

When one needs to transfer information one has to contact the administrator, explain the reason for the exchange of details and he would then contact the parties concerned himself to ensure there are no issues.

If you wish I will email the Administrator and try to sort this out.  I will need a day or two to update the spreadsheet.

I have left an email as you suggest but no one has got back to me. We are looking for the 1st part of the Mulberry Harbour model article. Dad says he has parts 2 - 12 published between 1980 and 1985  and would really like to track down part 1 so were hoping your index would tell us Many thanks

Part 1 of the Mulberry Harbour article is in the June 1981 (Vol.22 No.10) issue of Airfix Magazine.

To give you an idea of the size of a 1/350 Queen Elizabeth Class carrier, here is one (under construction) alongside the Airfix 1/350 HMS Daring:

Here it is compared to a 1/1200 version:

As you can see, there would be a lot of plastic (and therefore expense) in a 1/350 version. Having said that, I am completely biaised in saying you can't beat 1/350:

This year I have been collecting and building classic Airfix 1/32 car kits. Here are the first few.

Airfix 1/32 Lotus Cortina (M8C)

Airfix 1/32 Ford Zodiac III (M201C)

Airfix 1/32 Sunbeam Rapier III (M1C)

Airfix 1/32 MG 1100 Saloon (M7C)

Airfix 1/32 Vauxhall 2000 Estate (M302C)

Airfix 1/32 Renault Dauphine (M3C)

Airfix 1/32 Morris Mini Minor (M4C)

There are many more to be built in the coming years.....

I have built all of the Airfix 1/600 scale ships apart from HMS Repulse.

Airfix's excuse for not re-releasing the Free Enterprise II was disingenous to say the least. After all, they release all sorts of killing machines in kit form and they released the Titanic!

It is a tiny kit though and here it is alongside the Airfix RMS Queen Elizabeth II which is the same scale:

Would be nice to see it again but I doubt it will happen as it is not Spitfire-shaped.

My take on the Airfix 1/32 M3 Grant (08365-8) - it's a bit cleaner than Ratch's fine build!

I built one of these in the 70's when it first came out and motorised it with the supplied Airfix motor. The motor was not man enough and the car hardly moved at all, even on a flat surface such as a table. Not sure if that may have been due to misalignment or over-enthusiastic use of poly cement though. I built one a year ago and decided not to motorise it mainly because of my memories of that old build but it came out better looking though!

It would have been nice to have some new warships, military vehicles and cars.
