Graham

Agree with you entirely, your guess is as good as mine. I remember building all the 1/600 scale ships listed when i was in my early teens. Im fifty five now, bet i will not be able to make them any better than i did then. As like me the molds where alot younger. Just keep buying kits from overseas companies. Who are prepared to make very good ships of the Royal Navy, and sell them i presume at a profit. Maybe Airfix one day will fill this hole in their range, but im not holding my breath.

Airfix have done it again, the 2019 releases again no new ships. just ship kits that the molds come from the sixties.looks like the aircraft and armour modellers are being sell looked after. Its sad a British company cannot make a model of the new British aircraft carriers even in 1/700 scale. When they built a model a few years ago in 1/350 and displayed it on their stand at Telford.

Why are ship modellers being ignored by airfix nothing in the new 2018 catalogue! What about a1/350 Queen Elizabeth class carrier. If you cant make one yourself why not join forces with Trumpeter et al. Other companies do it, and don't loose their identity. Come on Airfix.

I have acquired the new 2018 Airfix catalogue. Wish I had saved my money, to buy a ship kit off one of the overseas company's that regularly produce kits. I also feel sorry for armour kit modellers. Sorry Airfix feel so let down I've been building your kits for nearly fifty years. No longer I fear

Very disappointed again.!

No ships, what's going on Airfix? Iv been a loyal customer since I was seven. Now i have to buy from foreign companies if i want a kit.And please don't tell me that ships don't sell if Trumpeter, Flyhawk et al are producing at least three new ship kits a year.

Fleet air arm aircraft kits are great but remember you need an aircraft carrier to fly them off.

Very disappointed wish i had not spent the money on the 2018 catalogue now.

Why are ship modelers being left out? it was sad to see the Airfix stand at telford with no ship models on it. Up till between the two world wars the Royal Navy was the largest navy in the world. So with the new aircraft carrier HMS Elizabeth entering service, and airfix having had access to the real  ship to build a model. Don't you think the only major British kit producer should make a kit?

Could it be me, or is 2016 the one hundredth year anniversary of the battle of Jutland?  Have aifix missed the boat so to speak. No new model ships from that era, or any era for that matter. Great Britain had the largest navy at that time. Looks like ship builders are no longer being catered for by airfix. Sad times, i would rather by from a British manufacturer but as a ship builder i will have to buy from companies abroad
