Hi all just opened up an old margarine tub of my late fathers and ive come across the below box, i have yet to find anywhere that has any information on it?

The box has -

Front - For use with 1:12th scale cars and collectors series model engines Electric Motor

Both side of box have - CAT No. 2010 M. Code NO. 09399-4

Top/Bottom - Electric Motor - The fitting instructions included with every kit / variable 1.5-3 volt D.C. Made In Hong Kong.

Back - The motor may be used as a 3 Volt D.C. with 1:12th scale connoisseurs' series cars, or as a 1.5 volt D.C. with Collectors' series model engines (No battery included)

Motor - Looks as though its HK (I assume for Hong Kong) and i think is a 58?/media/tinymce_upload/77069cdda698dcd2b328591eee2380ce.JPG

So does any one know anything on it,i have found one thing and that is one Ebay selling last year for £15?

Regards,

    Richard.

Dear All,

If anyone has a spare Airfix Electric Motor similar to the one described in Richard/Patrick's post (for a 1/12 scale Motor Car, CAT No. 2010 M. Code NO. 09399-4) I would be super happy to buy it!

I have an old Airfix 1/12 Bentley crying out for a working electric motor!

Regards,

Peter

Hi David,

Many thanks for the welcome and I will take on board your point about sales!

I'm looking forwward to posting some photos of the Bentley build (in the correct thread) as soon as I find said motor.

All best wishes,

Peter

I very much look forward to that Barkfast. The 1/12 Bentley is a kit I always wanted but could never ever have affrorded (back then of course). Now I imagine the moulds are shot and it would take too much work that I'd be prepared to put in.

On a separate though realted matter. I can't even now imagine how such a small motor, even at 3V, would have had enough power or torque to have moved a great big heavy kit like the Bentley. An aircraft propeller beautifully yes, but that huge Bentley?

Did anyone ever motorise theirs and it actually work?

From memory of the instructions, there was a lot of reduction gearing between motor and back wheels, although I never attempted to motorise such an expensive model, and actually left most of the gears out.
