SWorkbench - An Airborne Warrior at Sea

The latest edition of Workbench is now available and includes all the latest information from the Airfix Development team. We take a closer look at the new schemes to feature in the forthcoming release of the 1/48th scale Hawker Sea Hurricane Mk.lB and head back to the days before the Red Arrows with a superb addition to our Starter Set range.

We also have two reader supplied features and announce the winners of our recent English Electric Canberra competition – can there be a better way for any modeller to start the weekend?

I know I am being pedantic here but after having read the article (very interesting) I think Airfix need to have a closer look at the box art work before releasing the model. It shows the 'carrier in the background with the "island" on the port (that's the left) side of the flight deck. I think you will find that all RN carriers had/have the island on the starboard side.

I'm not convinced, Derek. Isn't it just the lighting and the angle of the picture that makes it look wrong?

The island is on the starboard side in the art work, it's just the shadow that makes it look as if it's on the port side.

Now if only Mr Airfix and Co could model that carrier. Oh; what joy.
