The reputation of the Supermarine company was built on their ability to design and produce effective and reliable marine and amphibious aircraft for civilian and military use. The Walrus was a perfect example of their expertise and underlined the strength of the aircraft by performing a loop at the 1933 Hendon Air Pageant, to the astonishment of the massed ranks of spectators.

Supermarine built their reputation on the design and production of effective seaplanes and amphibious aircraft and although these may not have possessed the aesthetic appeal of the later Spitfire, many a Spitfire pilot would be pleased to see an approaching Walrus if combat had forced them to take a dip in the English Channel.

'Silver Wings' Walrus Build

Just finished the first build of one of the first New Tooling. Amazing details inside, which unfortunately most people won't see. Never mind, I know it's there. Only bad points were the Open cockpit version clear plastic mouldings. The windscreen(F03) is not high enough to meet up with the main clear cover (F02). Second point was F02 was slightly bent, and had to apply heat to get it to bend back, also did not fit well over the fuselage top. Otherwise a lovely build, with very little 'adjustments' required
