Not the best starter

I picked this up to check out Humbrol paints... and they seem very nice however, the kit it self was very poor for an airfix kit. The air intake under the plane was badly mis-fitted, the exchange port plastic was very messy, little detail. For a serious modeler I can't recommend because of the lack of detail. For the beginner, it's nice to have the brushes, paint, etc. but the fitment problems make it a poor choice. Go get a nice spitfire starter set :D

Disappointed

I have recently returned to kit making after a very long absence. I have been very impressed by many of Airfix's models (e.g. Stuka, Skyhawk, etc.) but have been very underwhelmed by the Typhoon. The kit is lacking in basic detail, certain parts (e.g. airbrake) are totally oversized, air inlet isn't right and there were numerous "fit" issues. I would avoid this model and concentrate instead on airfix's newer tooled models - unless you wanted an extremely basic kit for a younger child
