| Description

The Jet Provost was introduced in the late 1950s and quickly became the RAF’s premier jet basic trainer. The T3 model, introduced in 1959, featured an uprated engine and an improved canopy design, offering the side by side seated pilot and pupil a much improved view. The Provost was a joy to fly, forgiving and easy to learn on, with many of the 1960s and 70s RAF front line pilots learning their trade on its un-swept wings. Its reliability and strength also added to its suitability as a jet trainer and the addition of wing tip tanks on the T3 also added to its endurance.

Perfect Fit

This little kit went together perfectly. The precision really is outstanding. Being series 2 there are some refinements left out (navigation lights, turbine blades) but these do not detract from an excellent kit. The decal sheet is very crowded and lacks handling room around the stencils which make the process more fiddly than maybe be necessary. Still - Highly recommended.

Little stunner

A lovely little kit with great detail. Good cockpit detail with great bang seats. The only let down are the orange decals which are totally unresponsive to whatever decal solution. That being said, it is one of Airfix's best efforts. I am going to build a whole squadron.

Super little kit

Can only agree with the other reviews here. This is a great little kit and a real pleasure to build. DO be warned that it is a tail sitter and you must add a fair bit of weight in the nose to counter balance the long tail section. I built the T3.A and have already purchased a second for the other variant. Whilst this is a skill Level 1 you will find it is a challenge, not least for the superb set of over one hundred decals. Airfix goes from strength to strength with its new models. And yes, please can we have a Vixen, Hunter, Javelin in 1/48.
