Description
Scheme: E.III 105/15 Ernst Udet KeK Habsheim March 1916
The E.III variant of this historically important fighter aircraft began to arrive on the Western Front at the end of 1915 and proved to be the definitive version of the aircraft. Produced in larger numbers than any other Eindecker, the arrival of large numbers of E.IIIs allowed the Luftstreitkrafte to deploy specialist fighter ‘hunting’ squadrons for the first time.

Incorporating Anton Fokker’s ingenious ‘interrupter gear’, which allowed machine guns to fire through the arc of the propeller without bullets striking the blades, the Eindecker is regarded as the first true fighter aircraft in aviation history and changed the course of aerial warfare forever, following its introduction in the summer of 1915.

Beautiful little model; one of the nicest in the whole Airfix range. It's tiny and that makes some of the parts a little fragile; careful removal with a razor saw recommended. Wonderful detailing for the scale - the machine gun and engine are especially good. It really looks good when rigged - although a monoplane, this is a fiddly job but well worth the time and effort. Highly recommended.

Great start to WWI
The model was not hard to make at all! It was simple and would highly recommend to the amateur modeller. The model itself was great but would like to see multiple paint schemes in the next version. Apart from that though, it was a brilliant kit and would highly recommend it. Thank you for another wonderful product Airfix!

Nice starter kit
Bought one of these for wargaming. Easy to assemble and looks great. The assembled model is durable enough to withstand handling - essential for what will be a playing piece.
